STARTERS

My car won't turnover - do I need a new starter? Maybe, Problem could be one of four different reasons...

  • Bad ignition switch
  • Bad ground or short in wiring system
  • Bad solenoid or starter
  • The solenoids on these units are integral, and the unit is best replaced as one piece. All units are subjected to thorough test procedures to ensure quality control.

    ALTERNATORS

    The red light has appeared on my dashboard, do I need a new alternator? Not necessarily! There are four common reasons why this can happen:

  • Battery problem
  • Fan belt has broken
  • Regulator failure
  • Alternator failure
  • Particularly on late model vehicles, it is essential that the battery is fully charged before testing the alternator for defects. Modern vehicles are equipped with an internal regulator so it is wise to replace the whole alternator-regulator unit. All of our units are remanufactured and tested for reliability.
